CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College baseball team fell in the second game of its weekend series against Liberty on Saturday, 5-2.

PC moves to 9-12 on the year and 0-2 in the Big South Conference. Liberty improves to 19-3 and 2-0 in league action.

Nate Chong (Duluth, Ga.) and Kenny Bryant (Goose Creek, S.C.) each hit a solo home run to give PC its two runs, marking the second time this season two different Blue Hose have homered in a game.

Jay Lizanich (Greer, S.C.) and Robby Swab (Kernersville, N.C.) each posted a hit in the effort, as well.

The Blue Hose received a solid outing from starting pitcher Chandler Knox (Columbia, S.C.), who went six innings and allowed four runs on seven hits. Buck Mosteller (Woodruff, S.C.) also pitched two and one-third solid innings of relief that saw one unearned run.

Liberty's Patrick Eckelbarger pitched a complete game and allowed two runs on four hits.

Liberty grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first, using a pair of two-out singles and an Alex Close RBI double to go ahead early.

The Flames added another run in the top of the third on a Bryan Aanderud sacrifice fly before PC took it back in the bottom of the frame on a Chong leadoff home run to left field, his second homer of the season.

Bryant hit his team-leading fourth home run in the next inning to pull PC within one, 3-2. The senior knocked a two-out pitch over the right field fence for a solo shot.

Liberty manufactured a run in the fifth, beginning with a Zack Haley single. A sacrifice bunt moved the Flame to second and a flyout sent him to third, setting up an Aanderrud RBI single.

The Flames tacked on one more in the eighth. An error put the leadoff man Ryan Cordell on base, who eventually came home on an Ian Parmley RBI single.

The two teams wrap up the series on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the PC Baseball Complex.
