ATHENS, Ga. - The Presbyterian College baseball team wrapped the first series of the 2012 season with an 11-0 loss to No. 11 Georgia on Sunday at Foley Field.

PC moves to 0-3 on the season while Georgia improves to 3-0.

Georgia posted eight runs in the first four innings. The Bulldogs scored four in the first inning and three in the seventh.

Brad Zebedis (Rock Hill, S.C.), Tony Micklon (Sumter, S.C.), Billy Motroni (Goose Creek, S.C.) and Kenny Bryant (Goose Creek, S.C.) each recorded a hit on the day.

Starter Steven Richardson (Howe, Texas) took the loss after giving up two runs in the first.

Three PC pitchers held Georgia hitless in one inning each. Buck Mosteller (Woodruff, S.C.) and Tim Corbin (Murrells Inlet, S.C.) each threw one perfect inning and Chad White (Suwanee, Ga.) held the Bulldogs without a hit in the eighth.

Chad Sanders (St. Simons Island, Ga.) also struck out a game-high two in one inning of work.

Cam McRae (Darlington, S.C.) and Robby Swab (Kemersville, N.C.) both made their PC debuts on Sunday.

The Bulldogs used four hits and an error in the bottom of the first to take an early 4-0 lead. The home side manufactured a run in the second off of a leadoff double and then took advantage of a hit and several wayward pitches to notch two in the third and lead 7-0.

PC put two runners on first base in the fourth inning but the Bulldogs took the force out at second base twice to escape the frame unscathed.

Georgia added a run on two hits in the fourth. The Blue Hose put a runner in scoring position in the fifth but could not convert.

Four hits turned into three runners in the seven for Georgia as the Bulldogs led by the eventual final margin, 11-0.

White found himself in trouble in the eighth but the sophomore kept the Bulldogs off of the scoreboard. The Bulldogs loaded the bases but White forced a flyout to right field to end the inning.

The Blue Hose tallied a single and a walk with two outs in the ninth but a strikeout sealed the win for Georgia.

PC returns to action on Tuesday when the Blue Hose visit Furman for a 4 p.m. contest.
