The Presbyterian College volleyball team rounded out a two-game North Carolina road swing with a 3-0 loss at UNC Asheville. The Bulldogs took the sets by scores of 25-19, 25-15, and 25-11.

The Blue Hose, who fall to 3-15 overall and 1-4 in the Big South, head to Campbell Oct. 16, and then High Point Oc. 17, in their next matches. Match times are 7 and 2 p.m., respectively. The Bulldogs improve to 10-7, 3-2.

PC was led by Sierra Davis with her seven kills and .292 hitting percentage. Rachel Elshoff posted six kills with Ashton Stewart adding five on the afternoon. Christine Lakatos paced the Bulldogs with 15 kills, with Madison Vaughn and Catherine Fischer trailing with six.

Jaclyn Brewington added 10 assists for PC, while Katie Davis posted 21 for the Bulldogs. Lena Gavin came away with a team-leading 12 digs, with Bryn Pfeiffer finishing with 11 for UNC Asheville.

The Blue Hose recorded a .069 hitting percentage and had 3.0 total blocks. UNC Asheville posted a .320 hitting percentage and had 7.0 total blocks.

A close first set much of the time, PC trailed by just two, 19-17, before Asheville used a 5-1 run to jump out to a 24-18 lead. Halle Tripp’s kill made it 24-19, but Vaughn ended it with a kill of her own to give the home team the 25-19 win.

Asheville stormed out to a 10-4 lead and extended it to 19-11, before settling on the 25-15 second set win. The third set was similar to the second with the Bulldogs opening up an 18-4 lead and coming away with the 25-11 victory to take the match.
