Volleyball Earns Post-Season Honors

Presley Mabrey was named to the Big South All-Conference Team, while Ashtin Frank was honored with a spot on the All-Freshman team, it was announced at the postseason volleyball banquet this evening.  Andrea Barman was also selected to the All-Academic Team.

Mabrey, who earned second team All-Conference honors, led PC this season in attacks with kills per set with 3.41 and total kills with 382.  Her 48 service aces was also tops on the team and in the Big South.  Mabrey had a career-high 29 kills at Jacksonville and a career mark of 20 digs against UNC Asheville.  In her third season at PC, she has already reached number on in PC's Division I record book in kills, as well as kills per set.  This season Mabrey recorded 21 double-digit kill matches, including three of over 20.  She also recorded double-digit digs in 11 matches and had a season-high four total blocks at High Point.  The junior was third in the league in kills as well.

Frank led the team in sets and was in sixth in kills, as well as attacks.  She was one of only two Blue Hose to play in every set this season.  Frank is already second on PC's Division I assists leaderboard and first in assists per set.  She posted a career-high 58 assists at Jacksonville earlier this season and recorded a career-best five kills at Charleston Southern.  A solid defensive player as well, Frank had a high of 13 digs against the College of Charleston and two solo blocks at Gardner Webb.  She had 40+ assists matches eight times this season.  She was also tops in the Big South in assists with 10.58 a set.

Andrea Barman carries a 3.34 GPA and played in 16 matches, starting in 10 of them this season.  She had 66 total kills and averaged 1.74 a set.  The Spanish major carried a .274 hitting percentage and had seven service aces to her credit.  Barman recorded 22 total blocks, including a six-block effort against USC Upstate.  She posted three double-digit kill matches this season, 13 coming against William & Mary to open the season.

PC closed out the season with a 13-17 overall record and a 7-7 Big South mark.  The 13 wins tied the highest mark since a 20-13 season in 2007.  The seven league wins was the most since joining the Big South.
