STATESBORO, Ga. – The Presbyterian College men’s tennis fell at Georgia Southern on Saturday, as the Eagles recorded a 6-1 victory at the Wallis Tennis Center. PC drops to 4-9 this season, while GSU improved to 4-8 with another win later in the day.
The Eagles claimed the doubles point with wins on court one and two with the third match going unfinished. GSU then took five of six singles matches to clinch the victory.
PC’s lone point came on court five. Elias Svensson recorded his first singles win of the season, a 6-2, 7-6 victory over Santiago Suarez, in his fourth match of the year.
Court one was decided in three sets. GSU’s Eddie Landin took the opening set, 6-2, but PC’s Alexander Lykou answered by taking set two, 6-3, to even the match. Landin ultimately came out on top in the third set, 6-4, to take the match.
PC returns to action next weekend, taking on Point on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Mercer on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center in Macon, Ga.
