Braselton, Ga. - The Presbyterian College men’s golf team finished 6th at the Bridgestone Stroke Play on Tuesday with a score of 617 (310, 307). Freshman Ben Pirro and senior Carson Spears led the team over the par-72, 6,971-yard Legends Course at the Chateau Elan.

Pirro led the team overall with a 15th place finish at 151 (74, 77), but it was Spears who had the team’s lowest round of the tournament. Spears rebounded with a second-round score of 73 (+1) to climb up to a 24th place tie at 154 (81, 73).

The 36-hole tournament had a format of teams playing six golfers and counting four. Josh Taylor (155; 75, 80) finished third for PC in his collegiate debut, and Harrison Fisher (158; 80, 78) was the team's final scorer. Also in their PC debuts, Brody Boston shot 166 (87, 79), and John David Chambers (44) shot 176 (88, 88).

Georgia State’s Severin Soller won medalist honors at 143 (70, 73), while Jacksonville won the team title at 589 (298, 291).

The Blue Hose will next play at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley in Sapphire, N.C., from October 1-3.
