AIKEN, SC – The Presbyterian College men’s golf team finished 14th at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate with a team score of 897 (300, 288, 309). Freshman John David Chambers led the Blue Hose on the par-70 course (6,617 yds).
In his collegiate debut, Chambers shot 224 (77, 73, 74) to tie for 54th and recorded the team’s only eagle of the tournament on Monday. Meanwhile the rest of the team finished within one stroke of each other. James Scott and Hayden Ploeger tied for 69th with scores of 228, while Cole Patterson and Carson Spears tied for 73rd at 229.
Clemson won the team title by one stroke with a team score of 835. Virginia’s Derek Bard won individual medalist honors at 204 (-6).
The Blue Hose will next play at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular from March 17-19 at Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
