Phillips Ties For 18th At Big South Championship
Redshirt senior Evan Phillips (Lexington, S.C.) led the Blue Hose by tying for 18th place and shooting 220 (74, 74, 72) in his final collegiate tournament.
Freshman Samuel Jackson (Pelion, S.C.) also ended his seaon well. His third round of 73 helped him tie for 30th at 226 (76, 77, 73) and brought his number of total pars to 39, fourth best out of all competitors.
Sophomore William Sigg (Augusta, Ga.) fell back to tie for 36th place at 229 (78, 73, 78). Junior Matt Sizemore (Richmond, Va.) continued to battle back from an inauspicious start, tying for 38th at 230 (83, 73, 74). Sophomore Carter Davis (Spartanburg, S.C.) shot 235 (85, 74, 76) to claim 43rd place.
Liberty's Robert Karlsson shot a final round of 69 to reclaim the lead from Gardner-Webb's Daniel Kim and help lead the Flames to the team title with an aggregate score of 844 (280, 275, 289). Karlsson shot 206 (69, 68, 69) while runner-up Kim shot 208 (70, 63, 75).
