Rock Hill, S.C. – The Presbyterian College softball team fell in the series finale against Winthrop on Wednesday night, 5-0. PC is now 10-32-2 on the year, 0-15 in conference play.


Taylor Ward got the start in the circle for the Blue Hose against the Eagles. The freshman worked into the fourth inning, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks in the loss. She was relieved by Sarah Ramsbottom, who collected the final nine outs of the contest. Ramsbottom allowed a run on three hits and a pair of walks.


Kelly Lucas collected the first hit of the ballgame for PC with a two-out single in the top of the fourth inning. Courtney White also picked up a base knock in the next frame.


The Blue Hose are scheduled to return to action this weekend when they travel to Boiling Springs, N.C. for a three-game series against Gardner-Webb. PC is scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon and then wrap up the set on Sunday.
