Coastal Carolina put up two runs in the first inning and that was enough as the Chanticleers came away with the 3-0 win over the Presbyterian College softball team in the final game of the Kickin' Chicken Classic held Feb. 9-11, at the Coastal Carolina Softball Field.
CCU 3, PC 0
Coastal Carolina got on the board early with a two-RBI single from Samantha Sack in the bottom of the first, with Kailey Mellen adding a run in the second off a RBI single to short. PC threatened with runners in scoring position in the final inning after Cassie Nichols drew a two-out walk and Chelsea Lyons advanced her off a single to left. That was it as the next PC batter struck out to end the game with the Chanticleers taking the 3-0 win.
