Hope Rogers went four-for-five with three RBI, while Megan Anderson added two hits and four RBI, to lead the Presbyterian College softball team to the come-from-behind 12-5 win over Fairleigh Dickinson in Saturday action at the Elon Phoenix Tournament in Elon, N.C.

Blue Hose Players of the Game
Hope Rogers recorded four hits and had three RBI, while Megan Anderson posted two hits and four RBI. Collecting two hits apiece for PC were Jonnie Petree and Madison Longanecker. Petree added four stolen bases as well.

Final Lines
PC recorded 12 runs off 14 hits, with two errors, while FDU posted five runs off seven hits, with five errors.

Alex Cook earned the win in relief for PC (1-3), going 4.0 innings and giving up two hits and no runs with four strikeouts. Kaylee Allen started for PC and threw 3.0 innings, surrendering three earned runs and five hits. Baylee Ports picked up the loss for FDU (0-1), going 4.1 innings and giving up 10 runs and 10 hits, while striking out six. Madison Emerson started and went 1.2 innings with two runs and four hits.

Scoring the Game
Fairleigh Dickinson opened the scoring early with a two RBI double by Kellie Natham in the top of the first to give the Knights a 2-0 lead. It didn’t last long as a single by Jonnie Petree and a walk by Kelsie Sanchez in the bottom of the first set up a two-RBI triple by Hope Rogers. Rogers put PC up 3-2 two batters later off a FDU error.

After a quiet second and third inning, FDU scored three in the top of the fourth. After Natham led off the inning with a single, she scored a couple of batters later off a PC error. Cheryl Lopez added another run with a RBI single, with a bases loaded walk by Mendoza giving FDU a 5-3 lead. PC immediately cut into the lead, 5-4 with a RBI single from Rogers in the bottom of the frame. She scored Madison Longanecker who led off the inning with a single.

The Blue Hose spotted six runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 10-5 lead. Rebekka Gross started it off with a single. Longanecker brought her home with her second hit of the game. Longanecker scored off a FDU error with a Sanchez walk and Rogers single loading the bases. Megan Anderson laced a three-RBI double to right center to clear the bases and make it 9-5. Another FDU error a few batters later scored the 10th run for PC.

The Blue Hose added two insurance runs in the sixth off an Anderson RBI single and a Balire Miller RBI bunt, as PC came away with the 12-5 win.
