The Presbyterian College softball team rallied from an early deficit to defeat Maryland-Eastern Shore, 4-2, in the first game of the Willie Jewell's Invitational, held Feb. 24-26, in Charleston, S.C. PC dropped game two of the tournament to Boise State, 11-0, in five innings.

Blue Hose Players of the Games
Hope Rogers paced the team Saturday afternoon with three hits, one RBI, and one run scored. Megan Anderson recorded three hits on the day as well. Katie Brown (2-4) went 7.0 innings against MDES, surrendering just six hits and no earned runs. She also struck out three.

How It Happened
PC 4, MDES 2 (G1)
After Maryland Eastern Shore opened the game with a run in the first, PC responded by loading the bases in the third, off two singles and a walk, the first single, a shot up the middle by Hope Rogers that drove home Jonnie Petree. An error by the left fielder scored all three runners still on base to give PC a 4-1 lead. MDES would pick up a run in the fifth off a sacrifice fly but that would be it as PC came away with the 4-2 win.

BSU 11, PC 0 (5)
Boise State led off the first inning with five straight hits, including a RBI double by Rebekah Cervantes and a RBI single from Kora Wade, to build a 2-0 lead. After adding a run in the second off a sacrifice fly from Izzy Serrano, the Broncos added seven in the third, four coming off a two-RBI single from Cervantes, and a two-RBI single from Makenzie Sullivan, to take a 10-0 lead. Shaelee Pearson hit a home run in the fourth to give BSU the final 11-0 score.

Final Lines
PC 4, MDES 2 (G1)
PC recorded four runs off five hits, with two errors, while MDES posted two runs off six hits, and had four errors. Katie Brown took the win (2-4) in a complete game effort. She gave up six hits and struck out three, surrendering two unearned runs.

BSU 11, PC 0 (5)
