High Point, N.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose (5-8-2, 3-3-1) and the High Point Panthers (8-5-3, 6-1-0) played 89:58 minutes of scoreless soccer before the Panthers got on the board following a corner kick and shot that was blocked. Siggi Benonysson collected the deflection and found the back of the net to give High Point the 1-0 win on Saturday night at Vert Stadium.
How it happened:
The Blue Hose and Panthers played a scoreless, defensive first half. Goalkeeper, Connor Behrend came up with a pair of saves to keep High Point off the board. Victor Menudier had a pair of shots for PC, one was on goal but the Panthers goalkeeper came up with the save keeping Presbyterian off the board.
Presbyterian was able to attack more in the second half as they collected the first corner kick opportunity of the night at the 61:54 mark and again at the 66:42 mark but were unable to get anything to come from them.
The defense continued to dominate the game before High Point finally received a corner kick chance inside the last 10 seconds of the game. They were able to find a goal off the opportunity and win the game with two seconds remaining.
