Blue Hose Unveil Jerseys for 2012 Season
The Presbyterian College football team unveiled its new blue jerseys and took the opportunity to show off the white and garnet jerseys recently. Fans will have the opportunity to see the new blue jerseys on Sept. 1 when the Blue Hose host Brevard in the season opener.
Below are short descriptions of all three jerseys. Combined with the blue, white and gray pants, the Blue Hose can choose up to eight uniform combinations.
Sleek, slimmer numbers on the front, back and sleeves of new blue jerseys are white with a maroon trim and are sewn on. "Blue Hose" is written above the front number in white. The sleeves are blue with a thick maroon stripe with a white trim running across it. A subtle close-up difference is the maroon thread sewn along the neckline. Part of the side panels of the jersey, as well as the rear bib, are mesh.
The white jerseys, introduced before the start of the 2011 season, have a mesh front with the "Blue Hose" sewn above the front number in blue. The numbers, which are blue with a maroon trim, are imprinted on the front, back and the sleeves. The sleeves are blue with a maroon trim at the shoulder. The top of the sleeve is white, bordered by a maroon trim with the number in the middle. The neckline is blue with a maroon stripe running through the middle. "PC" is sewn in a white patch located at the front of the neck line.
The garnet jerseys were introduced in 2008 and have a mesh front and back. The neck line is trimmed in garnet, white and blue with a garnet patch at the front of the neck line with "PC" sewn in white. The numbers are imprinted on the sleeves, front and back with "Blue Hose" sewn in white above the front one. The sleeves are blue and garnet with a white trim, with the edge of the sleeves in blue, white and garnet.
The football team reports to the PC August 1st with the first official practice of 2012 starting the next day (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m. A full preseason practice schedule will be released soon.
