HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Presbyterian College women's golf team is in a three-way tie for third place after round one of The Low Country Intercollegiate. The Blue Hose shot 316 and finished just three strokes off the lead. Wofford is hosting the 36-hole event at the par-72, 5,853-yard South Course of the Moss Creek Golf Club.

Senior Kasay Holbrook (Dawsonville, Ga.) shot a first round score of 77 to tie for 7th and also finish three strokes off the lead. Junior Kim Carpenter (Tampa, Fla.) also finished within striking distance, tying for 11th with a first round of 78.

Senior Carrie McClenaghan (Greenville, S.C.) finished day one tied for 22nd at 80. In their first tournament rounds of the spring, sophomore Kalie Goodman (Easley, S.C.) tied for 26th at 81 while sophomore Mary Kathryn Linder (Athens, Ga.) tied for 62nd at 88.

Appalachian State holds a one-stroke lead over Jacksonville, 313 to 314, as the Mountaineers look to defend their team title from last year. Newberry's Maria Luz Besio, Princeton's Wonji Choi, and Wofford's Alex Hendricks shot 2-over par 74 to sit tied for first.

The final round will tee off Monday morning at 9:30 a.m.
