Women's Golf Releases Schedule

CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College women's golf schedule was released Thursday by head golf coach Thomas Addison. The team will travel to four fall tournaments and as well as five in the spring. In addition to one new spring tournament, PC will be hosting the 2013 Big South Conference Women's Golf Championship to end the year.

The team will start their fall season by returning to the Terrier Invitational hosted by Wofford at the Spartanburg Country Club from September 9-11. Last season the Blue Hose finished 5th with a score of 615 (305, 310). Senior Micah Dowling (Orlando, Fla.) had a share of the lead after day one before tying for 12th at 152 (72, 80).

The following week, PC will again play in the Great Smokie Invitational hosted by Western Carolina at the Waynesville Golf Course from September 16-18. Dowling as well as fellow senior Kim Carpenter (Tampa, Fla.) tied for 31st at 149, helping the Blue Hose to 7th place and a school record of 591 (301, 290).

From October 5-7, the Blue Hose will travel back to the Winthrop Women's Invitational hosted by Winthrop at the Rock Hill Country Club. Last season, junior Kalie Goodman (Easley, S.C.) tied for 11th place with a two-round score of 157 (78, 79) to help PC claim third place at 621 (311, 310), just one stroke behind the host Eagles.

Like last season, PC will end their fall at the Wendy's Invitational hosted by Charleston Southern from October 14-16 at the Coosaw Creek Country Club. Goodman led all Blue Hose returners with a score of 163 (85, 78) as the Blue Hose finished 12th at 634 (324, 310).

To open their spring season, PC will return to the 2013 Kiawah Island Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston on the Oak Point and Cougar Point Golf Courses. Last season Dowling led the Blue Hose with a 26th place tie at 227 (79, 70, 78). PC also finished 26th with a team score of 951 (325, 303, 323).

From March 17-19, the Blue Hose will compete at the inaugural Bobby Nichols Invitational hosted by the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles at the Sevierville Golf Course in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Then PC will return to The Low Country Intercollegiate from March 23-25, which is hosted by Wofford at the Moss Creek Golf Course. PC claimed 7th place last season with a team score of 642 (316, 326). Goodman helped lead the team with a score of 164 (81, 83) and 39th place finish.

In their penultimate tournament, PC will return to the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate hosted by Appalachian State at the Mimosa Hills Country Club from March 31-April 2. Goodman claimed her first top-ten finish at this tournament last season, earning ninth place with a personal-best score of 154 (74, 80). PC earned 5th place at 793 (398, 395) with an unconventional number of five golfers being combined to acquire team scores.

From April 14-17, PC will host the 2013 Big South Championship at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C. The Patriot Club will be hosting the Big South Women's Golf Championship for the seventh time, as the course hosted the event in 2005 as well as 2008-12.
