Graduation Ceremonies Take Place for Sixty-Three PC Student-Athletes

Sixty-Three student-athletes were invited to participate in graduation ceremonies held at Presbyterian College's campus Saturday, May 12, 2012, including Bobby Keskey and Matt Nodelman who were both members of the Sigma Kappa Alpha Scholastic Honor Society.

"Graduation is always a great day here at Presbyterian College," said Brian Reese, Director of Athletics.  "I'm very excited for our graduating student-athletes."

Baseball saw the most graduates with 15, while football followed with 14.  Women's lacrosse saw five graduate while women's soccer and volleyball had four.

Three men's basketball players walked across the stage, with women's golf, women's tennis, cheerleading and men's soccer following with two each.

Men's golf, men's tennis, softball, men's cross country, women's cross country and women's basketball graduated one apiece.

Four former members of the men's lacrosse team earned their degrees from PC as well.

21 student-athletes graduated with honors, including men's soccer's Bobby Keskey, men's golf's John Solms, women's soccer's Jessica Kramer and Lauren Snyder, women's lacrosse's Laura Meade and baseball's Matt Nodelman and Andrew Williams, who graduated summa cum laude.  Williams earned Honors in Psychology as well.

Two athletes graduated magna cum laude as women's cross country's Stephanie Newell and men's soccer's Thomas Palma took home the honors.

Earning cum laude degrees were Sarah Beth Anderson, William Harrison, Leslie Hensley, Nate Horton, Stewart Curry, Susan England, Brooke Keller, Tony Micklon, Paige Oelke, Jordan Pace, Kirstin Stenoien and Kristen Stevens.

"We will miss our athletes and what they have accomplished here at PC but we're excited for them as they open the next chapter in their life."
