“Brooke’s commitment to this program and tireless work ethic has elevated her to this position,” commented Sharp. “She has been instrumental in helping lay a solid foundation here at PC through her ability to build relationships and be a positive role model for our team. Brooke has worked extremely hard in recruiting and is a terrific coach. I’m excited and thankful to see her continued impact on our program.”
Rhodes served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator during the 2018-19 season, working primarily with the team’s post players. As recruiting coordinator, she oversaw the addition of seven newcomers for next season including: Alessia Capley, Tionna Carter, Jade Compton, Shariah Gaddy, Kaitlyn Keathley, Le’Mesha Madden and Georgia Stockton.
During last season, Rhodes coached senior Salina Virola to multiple career bests and program records. Most notably, Virola recorded her ninth double-double of the season (18 pts, 18 rbs) in the team’s first round victory over Winthrop in the Big South Tournament. It gave her a program-best 10 double-doubles in her career, with the 18 rebounds being a Division I single-game best for the program and one shy of the Big South Tournament record.
"It is a great honor and a privilege to work on the PC Women’s Basketball staff,” said Rhodes. “To be able to work for my mentor, Coach Sharp, has been nothing short of incredible. I want to thank Coach Sharp for this opportunity and for her continued willingness to help further my development and the growth of my career. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for our program and am thankful for the special group of young women I’m lucky enough to work with each day.”
