Charlotte, N.C. – Presbyterian College senior point guard Cortney Storey has been named to the Big South Preseason All-Conference first team as voted by the head coaches of the Big South.

“I am very happy to see that Cortney is being recognized for her excellence as she heads into her senior season,” said coach Todd Steelman. “She has worked hard throughout her career and she has proven herself as a premier point guard in our league. We are excited to see what she can do this season. She has grasped our system, performed at a high level, and she is a true leader on and off the court for our program.”

Storey enters her senior season as the leader the Presbyterian College women’s basketball team, she will be looking to improve on a season in which she averaged 12.6 points, 4.4 assists, 2.1 steals and 36.8 minutes played per game. Storey is the first Blue Hose player to be named to the preseason All-Conference team since Karlee Taylor prior to the 2013-14 season. Taylor would go on to be named to the Big South Conference Second Team that season.

Prior honors for Cortney include being named the Big South Freshman of the Year and to the Big South All-Freshman team in 2014-15, Big South Honorable Mention as a sophomore and Big South second team as a Junior.

She enters her senior season poised to become the first Blue Hose player of the Division I era to record over 1,000 points, 400 assists and 200 steals in her career. Storey comes into the season with 875 points, 346 assists and 161 steals.
