CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis fell to Charlotte in its road opener on Sunday evening, 6-1, in Charlotte, N.C. The Blue Hose drop to 1-1 on the year and the 49ers improve to 2-0.
Charlotte took the early advantage, winning two of the three doubles matches with the third going unfinished. The 49ers recorded a 6-3 victory on court one and a 6-1 win on court three to clinch the doubles point. Samantha Calais and Demi Henschel trailed by a game at 4-3 on court two when the point was decided, leaving the match unfinished.
The 49ers recorded wins in five of the six singles matches en route to the victory. Beth Taylor claimed PC’s lone win, recording a 6-4, 6-4 win on court four to improve to 2-0 on the year.
The Blue Hose return to action on Friday, traveling to future Big South foe USC Upstate for a 2 p.m.
