CLINTON, S.C. – The reigning Big South Champion Presbyterian College men’s tennis team will defend its title against a tough 2018 slate, announced by head coach Patrick Fediuk on Thursday.

“We are really excited about our 2018 schedule,” said Fediuk. “It is filled with some of the top mid-major programs in the southeast and will be excellent competition for our team.  Schedules like this will only make us better, and battle tested as we move through a very tough Big South conference this year.  We look forward to embracing the challenge!”

PC opens the season on Jan. 13 with a doubleheader at Clemson in the first two of four straight road matches to start the season. PC then travels to Greenville, N.C. on Jan. 20-21 to take on NC Central and East Carolina, respectively.

The Blue Hose open the home portion of the schedule on Jan. 27, hosting Davidson at 2 p.m. at the PC Tennis Courts. After a road match at UNCG on Jan. 28, PC returns home for three straight, hosting USC Upstate on Feb. 1 and a doubleheader against Appalachian State and Lee on Feb. 3.

The team’s remaining non-conference home matches come against The Citadel on Feb. 17, Kennesaw State on Feb. 23 and North Greenville on Senior Night on Apr. 6.

In remaining non-conference road action, PC travels to in-state foes Furman (Feb. 7) and former Big South foe Coastal Carolina (Feb. 10). They will also face Samford (Feb. 19), Charlotte (Feb. 24), Georgia Southern (Mar. 3), Point (Mar. 3) and Mercer (Mar. 11) away from Clinton.

PC’s Big South Regular Season title defense begins on Mar. 17, as PC opens conference play at Campbell. The Blue Hose defeated the Camels in the Big South title match last season, 4-3, en route to their first Big South Tournament Championship. They then travel to UNC Asheville on Mar. 20, before beginning on a five-match homestand.

PC takes on Gardner-Webb in its first home Big South match on Mar. 22. The Blue Hose will then host Longwood on Mar. 30, Radford on Mar. 31 and Liberty on April 6 to round out the home portion of the conference slate. PC concludes the regular season on Apr. 12 at Winthrop.

The Big South Tournament will take place Apr. 16-18 in Rock Hill, S.C. on the campus of Winthrop University.
