KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – Junior Maiken Bing Paulsen and freshman Serina Combs led the Presbyterian College women’s golf team with first round scores of 75 (+3) at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic on Sunday. The Blue Hose tied for 28th with a score of 307 on the par-72, 5,941-yard Oak Point course.
Celia Mansour finished one stroke back at 76 to tie for 83rd. Rylie Marchman (81; t161) and Ann Elizabeth Gore (84; t191) rounded out the team scoring. Newcomer Sydney Abruzzino shot a round of 79 (t134) playing as an individual.
The hosts from College of Charleston shot 288 on the Oak Point course to take a one-stroke lead into round two. Four golfers finished -3 on the day to share a one-stroke lead.
