NINETY SIX, SC - Defending champion Campbell University has secured the No. 1 seed in next week’s Big South Women’s Golf Championship presented by Musco Sports Lighting, which will be hosted by Radford University at The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor in Ninety Six, S.C.  The Camels receive the No. 1 seed based on its current GolfStat national ranking of 50, the highest among the nine Big South women’s golf programs.

Charleston Southern is ranked No. 116 in the nation by GolfStat and receives the No. 2 seed.  Gardner-Webb is the No. 3 seed with its ranking of 147, while Winthrop earns the No. 4 seed with its national ranking of 154.  High Point, ranked No. 169, will be the No. 5 seed in the championship, with Presbyterian College (213) receiving the No. 6 seed, its highest in program history.  Longwood receives the No. 7 seed (No. 217), ahead of first-year program UNC Asheville (No. 8 - 223).  Host Radford rounds out the field at No. 9 (234).

Junior Celia Mansour leads PC with a stroke average of 75.45 and ranks sixth in the Big South’s scoring averages. She has two top-10 finishes including a win at the Low Country Intercollegiate. Sophomore Maiken Bing Paulsen also ranks in the Big South’s top-20 with a stroke average of 77.30. She leads the Blue Hose with three top-10 finishes this season. Senior Abby Driscoll (79.15) will be ending a stellar career with one final collegiate tournament. Sophomore Ann Elizabeth Gore (80.35) and freshman Rylie Marchman (85.18) will also be competing for PC.

The Patriot Golf Club is hosting the Big South Women’s Golf Championship for the first time since 2014 and ninth time overall, and will utilize a par 72, 6,045-yard layout to determine this year’s champion.  The 2017 Big South Women’s Golf Championship presented by Musco Sports Lighting begins this weekend with a practice round on Sunday, April 16.  The three-day, 54-hole event will be played April 17-19 and is free and open to the public.  In addition, fans can follow the action online via GolfStat’s “Live Scoring” feature.  The 2017 champion will receive the Big South’s automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.  The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
