• PC and Auburn will meet on the diamond for the first time since 2014. The Blue Hose took a 10-6 victory in the series opener against the Tigers, as PC totaled 17 hits in the win.

Scouting Auburn
• The Tigers sit at 10-4 on the year after splitting a pair of midweek games against South Alabama and Kennesaw State. They have yet to play a road games will not do so until March 21, starting the year with 22 straight home games.
• Auburn is batting an even .300 to start the season with 33 extra-base hits to their credit, including 27 doubles. They are led by Jonah Todd with a .380 average and a team-high-tying 12 runs, while Daniel Robert and Dylan Ingram each have 12 RBIs.
• On the bump, Keegan Thompson has been lights out, starting 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA and pitching in three combined shutouts.

One-Run Games A Plenty
• PC has already played nine one-run games in its 15 games on the season, including four of its five last week. The Blue Hose are 6-3 in those nine games.
• Six of PC’s eight wins on the year have come in one-run games. The Blue Hose have totaled a .276 batting aveage with 26 extra-base hits in those games along with a 4.26 ERA.
• The bullpen has been one key for PC in one-run games, going 3-1 with a 2.49 ERA, allowing seven earned runs in 25.1 innings pitched in the close ones.
Nick Wise leads the team with a .440 average and nine runs in games decided by a lone run, while Nick Guimbarda is batting .429 in the close games. AJ Priaulx has seven RBIs in the nine games with a .567 slugging percentage.
Will Smith has pitched in five of the nine games, compiling a 0.77 ERA in 11.1 innings pitched, allowing just one earned run with nine strikeouts.

• Senior lefty Brian Kehner racked up a season-high 12 strikeouts in PC’s 3-2 win over the Skyhawks last Friday at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C.
• The captain worked 7.0 innings, tied for the longest outing by a PC thus far, and allowed two runs on four hits with just a lone walk against the 12 punchouts.
• The 12 strikeouts were not only one shy of his career-high but one shy of the PC D1 single-game record of 13, tied by Kehner in a start at Campbell last season.
• Kehner now has three career games with at least 10 strikeouts, most of any pitcher in PC’s Division I era. No other PC pitcher has more than one such game.

Priaulx Leading the Way
AJ Priaulx is off to a hot start this season, leading the team with a .375 average, nine RBIs and a .583 slugging percentage. He hit his first homer of the season on Sunday, a solo shot out to right in the ninth inning against Furman.
• Priaulx has a hit in each of his last seven games, including three multi-hit games. He has driven in or scored at least one run six of the seven games, including two multi-RBI games.
• His best game of the stretch came on Sunday against Furman, as he reached in all five plate appearances. Priaulx went 2-for-3 with a homer, two walks, two runs and two RBIs against Furman.
• His 18 hits on the year currently rank second in the Big South, while his 28 total bases are seventh in the league.

He’s Gumby, Dang It
Nick Guimbarda, also known to his teammates as Gumby, has emerged as go-to player for the Blue Hose in his sophomore season.
• The lefty outfielder has started all but one game for PC, batting .348 with a team-high five doubles and a team-high-tying nine RBIs. The five doubles are tied for third-most in the Big South this season.
• Guimbarda has drawn a team-high six walks, leading to a .415 on-base percentage, second-best on the squad, while proving he can handle the bat with four sac bunts.
• On the bases, he has stolen four bases to date, second-most on the team and top 10 in the Big South.

Offense Well Balanced
• So far this season, the PC offense has proved well balanced. AJ Priaulx leads the team with 18 hits, while Tyler Weyenberg and Nick Guimbarda are tied for second with 16 each.
• Much is also the case in the run and RBI categories. Nick Wise has scored 11 times with Weyenberg touching home 10 times and Priaulx scoring nine times. Priaulx and Guimbarda lead the team with nine RBIs, while Glen Casaceli has six and three others tied for second at five runs batted in.
• The team is batting .264 through 15 games with 25 doubles and four home runs, to go with 14 stolen bases and 16 sacrifice bunts.

Richardson, Wise Providing a Boost
TJ Richardson and Nick Wise have provided a boost with their bats to become fixtures in the lineup.
• Richardson is batting .360 in nine games of action, totaling a pair of doubles and five RBIs in 25 at-bats.
• Wise is batting .389 on the year with two doubles, a homer and 11 runs scored in 36 at-bats.
• Wise has hit safely in each of his last seven games, while Richardson has a hit in each of his last six games. Wise is 12-for-25 (.480) with nine runs during the seven-game streak, while Richardson is 8-for-19 (.421) during his streak.
