2017: Played in nine games, starting eight...threw for a career-high 926 yards, completing 85-of-137 yards passes with four touchdowns against four interceptions...also rushed for 384 yards on 111 carries with three touchdowns to finish second on the team in rushing...threw for a career-high 153 passing yards against Saint Francis on 10 completions...completed 14-of-15 passes (93.3 percent) against Cumberland for 148 yards and a touchdown, his career-best passing percentage (min. 15 attempts)...went perfect 8-for-8 passing for 122 yards against Gardner-Webb en route to a career-high 228.1 passing efficiency...also rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns against the Runnin' Bulldogs, the first PC quarterback to rush for three touchdowns in a game in PC's Division I era and the first PC player to do so since 2012...had five straight games with with at least 128 passing yards...finished the season with six games of at least 100 passing yards...recorded a completion percentage of 62.0 percent, a career-high and the best in the Big South this season...amassed a career-high 19 completions against Wofford...finished the year with a career-best 122.6 passing efficiency

2016: Started and played in eight games at quarterback…threw for 837 yards in his second season as the primary starter, completing 95-of-173 passes, 54.9 percent, with two touchdown passes…also rushed 95 times for 168 yards and one touchdown…reached at least 100 passing yards on five occasions…established a career high with 135 passing yards on 12-of-18 passing with a touchdown in the win over Monmouth…reached a career-high passing efficiency of 148.0 against the Hawks…Cheek (135) and John Walker (123) each threw for 100 yards against Monmouth, first time two PC quarterbacks each threw for over 100 yards in the same game since 2008…recorded 17 completions on 29 pass attempts, both career highs, at Gardner-Webb, throwing for 124 yards…his 95 completions were more than PC completed as a team in 2015 (87)…completed at least 10 passes in seven of the eight games…rushed 21 times for a career-high 128 yards at South Alabama, the second-most rushing yards by a PC player in 2016…first PC quarterback to rush for 100 yards in a game since 2011…as a team, PC completed 168 passes, most since 2013, led by Cheek’s 95

2015: Played in eight games, making five starts in his redshirt freshman season…completed 30 of 79 pass attempts for 277 yards and two touchdowns…rushed 71 times for 152 yards and a touchdown…set single-game career highs in completions (9), attempts (18), passing yards (93) and passing efficiency (100.6) against Monmouth…made his first career start against Campbell…started the final four games of the season

2014: Redshirted

High School: Played four years of football for Franklin County HS…earned a place on the All-Region team for three consecutive years (2011-2013)…played safety as a sophomore, recording six interceptions and 50 tackles...moved to quarterback for his junior and senior seasons…tallied over 1,000 yards passing in 2012 and 2013…rushed for over 400 yards as a senior…member of Beta Club and FCA…choose PC because it’s a great academic school that felt like a good fit, and because of the coaching staff
