SPARTANBURG, SC – Presbyterian College’s Hayden Ploeger finished runner-up at the Wofford Invitational on Tuesday with a collegiate best 6-under par. With Ploeger already in the clubhouse, Radford’s Myles Creighton broke a four-way tie for first with a birdie putt on the 18th hole to steal medalist honors in the last possible moment.
Ploeger recorded personal bests in 18 holes (66) and 36 holes (138) on the Country Club of Spartanburg's par-72 course. Cole Patterson tied for 28th with a score of 146 (76, 70) and recorded a collegiate best 2-under on Tuesday. Carson Spears tied for 41st at 148 (76, 72). James Scott shot 158 (79, 79) to tie for 63rd, and Harrison Fisher shot 161 (82, 79) to tie for 65th.
The Blue Hose combined for a score of 587 (297, 290) for 11th place. Radford won the team title with an aggregate of 564.
The tournament was interrupted by inclement weather on Monday and shortened to 36 holes.
PC will next play at the Big South Championship at The Patriot Golf Course in Ninety Six, S.C., beginning on Friday, April 21.
