ROCK HILL, SC – Presbyterian College freshman Emily Swanigan earned her first collegiate top-10 finish and ran a school record 19:13.9 at the 33rd Winthrop Adidas Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning at the Winthrop Lake Course.

Swanigan (8th) broke the 5k record by 13 seconds after setting the school's 6k record last week at Furman by 31 seconds.

Sally Hart (22nd) was next to cross for PC in 20:38 before Denise Devaney (31st), Ripley Fricano (33rd) and Bea DiBona (35th) rounded out the scoring with times of 21:10, 21:23 and 21:33 respectively.

Sarah Jennings (22:21), Kennedy Brooks (23:37), Christin Van Hoy (24:26) and Lacey Hornaday (25:20) also competed for the Blue Hose.

South Carolina won the women's Division I competition with 18 points. Winthrop was second with 46 points while USC Upstate edged PC for third, 90 to 91. The Gamecock’s Mary Reiser won the women’s race with a time of 18:40.

PC will have the next weekend off before returning to race at the Big South Preview Meet at the Asheville Christian Academy on Saturday, October 1. The women’s race is scheduled for 9:45 am.
