The Presbyterian College volleyball team rounded out its final road non-conference match of the season with a 3-0 loss at Wofford Wednesday night. The Terriers took the three sets by scores of 25-8, 25-23, and 25-15.
PC, which drops to 3-18, returns home Friday and Saturday to host Liberty and Radford, respectively. PC faces the Flames on the 23rd at 7 p.m., before taking on the Highlanders the 24th at 2 p.m. Wofford improves to 13-12.
Lauren Miller led Wofford with 16 kills, while Bella Santoro added 13, to go along with her team-leading six service aces.
Wofford hit .437, with its 48 kills and 10 errors. PC posted a .173 hitting percentage after recording 23 kills and 10 errors. The Terriers held a 10-3 advantage in service aces as well.
After Elshoff cut the Wofford lead to two, 6-4, Wofford scored 11 straight to make it 17-4. Del Toro's kill stopped the PC drought but the Terriers responded by scoring the set's next eight of 11 points to take the 25-8 win.
Down 5-7 in the second set PC used a kill by Davis and an ace by Ashton Stewart to tie it up at 7-7. Tied again at 9-9, PC went on a 7-2 run, capped off by a Rogers kills, to build a 16-11 lead. Wofford rallied back to tie the set at 20-20, with both teams going back and forth the next few points. After a block by Stewart and Rogers knotted the set at 23-23, Wofford collected back to back kills to come away with the 25-23 win.
Wofford stormed out to an 8-2 lead to open the third set before a Stewart kill ended the PC scoring drought. The Terriers extended their lead to 15-5, with a service error stoppign the 4-0 run. Trailing 7-17, PC scored five unanswered to cut the margin to five, 17-12. Trailing by five again at 15-20, Wofford scored five straight to take the set and match, 25-15.
