Head Coach


Britne is in her third year at Presbyterian College and second as head softball coach with the Blue Hose.  She was an assistant coach during the 2013 season.

Under Stubbs in 2015, the softball team advanced to its first ever Big South Championship with a 6-1 win over Winthrop, a 5-3 win over Coastal Carolina and a 5-1 win over Charleston Southern.  The Blue Hose fell to Longwood 4-0.  The Blue Hose were just the second PC sports team to reach a tournament championship since making the move to NCAA Division I in 2007.  The Blue Hose produced three All-Conferenc members in Erin Ruff, Shelby Petik and Jill McLean, as well as three All-Tournament selections in Kensley Loudermelk, Hope Rogers, and Ruff.

Stubbs joined the Blue Hose in 2013 after a year as an assistant coach at Utah State, working with the Aggie outfielders, along with hitting.  Prior to joining the USU coaching staff, Stubbs spent five years as the head softball coach and Senior Woman Administrator at Brevard.

As head coach at Brevard the Tornados improved their win total each season.  She led the Tornados to their first winning season in 2010, earning their second berth in the SAC tournament and first postseason win, defeating host Carson Newman in the first round.

Stubbs began her collegiate coaching career as an assistant at Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio, where she earned her master’s degree in business administration.  During her two years at Tiffin, she helped the Dragons to a 94-22 (.810) record and two American Mid-West Conference Championships, two Region IX Championships and two NCAA Division II National Tournament appearances.  While at Tiffin, she helped tutor five All-Americans, six all-region performers and seven all-conference players, along with being a member of the 2006 Region IX Coaching Staff of the Year.

A native of Bennettsville, S.C., Stubbs played softball at Queens in Charlotte, N.C.  Stubbs was named to the first-team all-Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference three times and was her team's Most Valuable Offensive Player three consecutive seasons spanning from 2002-2005.  In 2005 Stubbs earned Player-of-the-Year and Southeast All-Region Team honors as well.

Stubbs has also worked summer camps and clinics at North Carolina, North Carolina State, Georgetown, College of Charleston, Saint Leo and Utah State for the several years.
