Baltimore, Md. – The Presbyterian College (3-6) volleyball team defeated the Morgan State Bears (1-9) by a 3-1 score (19-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-20). The Blue Hose were led by sophomore Erin Eulitz who finished with a double-double of 13 kills and 19 digs in the contest.

Scoring the match:

Morgan State 25, PC 19 – The Blue Hose stayed within a point of the Bears for the first ten points each as it was 10-10 when Morgan State went on a run. They took a 15-11 and then 18-13 before PC made a mini-run. Morgan State would hold the Blue Hose off in the first set winning by six in the end.

PC 25, Morgan State 23 – In the second set the Bears would take a 13-6 lead before the Blue Hose went on a run. PC went on a 15-3 run overall to take a 21-16 lead. The Bears largely contributed to their own let-down as 11 of the Blue Hose 15 point were due to Morgan State errors in the 15-3 un. After going up 21-16 PC would hold off a Morgan State rally to win the set 25-23.

PC 25, Morgan State 17 – In the third set the points were back and forth through 7-7, then the Blue Hose went on a 9-3 run allowing them to take a 16-10 lead. Morgan State answered with a mini-rally of their own to cut it to 18-14 but the Blue Hose responded a 7-3 run of their own. Two of Eulitz’s 13 kills plus a service ace helped spark the run that led to the PC third set victory.

PC 25, Morgan State 20 – The fourth and final set was a close one the whole way as neither team ever had a big run. The widest margin of victory came at the final score win PC was up by five. Allie Wright contributed three kills in the fourth set and Eulitz had four of her match high 13.

Player of the match:

Eulitz had the best day of all the Blue Hose with a match high 13 kills and 19 digs. Wright also contributed 11 kills. Daley Gosnell and Caroline Henderson finished with double digit digs as they both had 13. Jaclyn Brewington finished with 24 assists.

Notes of the match:

- The Blue Hose finished with 50 kills in the contest and a .222 attacking percentage.

- PC had two players finish with double figure kills and three finish in double figure digs.

- Brewington and Sierra Jones each finished with double figure assists as well.

For the record:

Presbyterian College improves to 3-6 on the season while the Morgan State Bears drop to 1-9.

The Blue Hose travel to Jacksonville, Fla. to play in the Dolphin Invitational next weekend. They will play Jacksonville at 6 p.m. on Friday followed by Austin Peay and South Florida on Saturday.
