CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College was chosen to finish fourth in the Big South preseason men’s soccer poll, as voted by the league’s head coaches, the Conference announced on Tuesday.

The Blue Hose earned 44 points, including a second place vote, behind fourth-year head coach Jonathan Potter. After being tabbed fourth a season ago, the team went 5-3 in Big South play to earn the No. 3 seed in the Big South Tournament and hosted the Big South Championship Final against Campbell.

High Point received five first place votes and 74 points to finish as the preseason favorite. The Panthers are the two-time defending regular season champions. Radford and Campbell each received two first place votes and tied with 68 points to tie for second.

Just behind Presbyterian College’s 44 points, Gardner-Webb was voted fifth with 42 points. Longwood (32), Winthrop (30), USC Upstate (26) and UNC Asheville (21) rounded out the field.

The Blue Hose will open their regular season on August 29 with a home game against Georgia State at 7:00 pm.
