CHARLOTTE, N.C.  – USC Upstate junior middle blocker Gloria Ikenegbu (Anderson, S.C.) has been named the Big South Volleyball Player of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced Monday. In addition, Presbyterian sophomore Taylor Farmer (Pickens, S.C.) is the Defensive Player of the Week, and UNC Asheville setter Grace Volk (Arlington, Neb.) is the Freshman of the Week for matches played Oct 29-Nov. 4.
 
Ikenegbu helped lead USC Upstate to a 2-0 record last week with 30 kills (3.75 per set), a .390 hitting percentage, 10 blocks (1.25 per set) and 36.5 points (4.56 per set). In a five-set victory against Campbell, she had 21 kills with a .357 hitting percentage and seven blocks. Ikenegbu then followed that up with a .471 clip with nine kills and three blocks, this time in a sweep over Hampton.
 
Farmer finished last week with 57 digs (4.75) en route to the Blue Hose winning two home matches. In a four-set defeat of Gardner-Webb, she had 13 digs. Farmer then tallied 33 digs in a key five-set victory over third-place Winthrop, the 7th-most in a single match in PC's Division I era. 
 
Volk helped secure a perfect 3-0 record for the Bulldogs last week. She tallied a .421 hitting percentage, 105 assists (10.50 per set), 25 digs (2.50 per set) and five blocks (0.50 per set). Volk started the week with six kills, a .750 hitting percentage, 34 assists, six digs and a block at Charleston Southern. Then against Hampton, she recorded 38 assists with 12 digs, and then finished the week with 33 assists, seven digs and three blocks in a home win over Campbell.
