How it Happened
-PC built a 16-10 advantage in the opening set, but a 5-0 Panthers’ run trimmed the margin back to a single point. GSU eventually evened the score at 23-23, but back-to-back kills by Talbert and freshman Gracie Davis sealed the first set for the Blue Hose.
-Georgia State seized control early in the second set, jumping out to an 11-6 edge. Presbyterian responded by rattling off six of the next seven points to level the score at 12-12. With the set deadlocked at 22-22, Talbert notched a kill and served an ace to help the Blue Hose surge to a 2-0 advantage through two sets.
-Early in the third set, PC turned a 5-4 deficit into a 9-5 lead with a five-point spurt. The Blue Hose held a 21-16 advantage, but that was answered by a 6-0 GSU run which put the Panthers on top, 22-21. With the set once again tied at 23-23, a Talbert kill and Jones ace clinched victory for PC.
The Blue Hose continue their non-conference slate on Wednesday night as they travel to Wofford. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
