Presbyterian College men’s cross country runner Duncan Gotfredson has been named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Team, selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Gotfredson (Berkeley Lake, Ga.) battled injury his senior season to help lead the men’s team to its best finish in program history, seventh, at the Big South Championship. A two-time team captain, he set the program’s 8k record (26:20) his junior year and was a perennial top-2 finisher for the team.

In the classroom, Gotfredson majored in political science while maintaining a 3.94 GPA. He was named to the 2017 and 2018 Big South All-Academic Teams and was the Student Athlete Advisory Committee president his senior year.

Gotfredson is the first runner to receive this award during PC’s Division I era.

The 10-member team will move on to a national ballot where they will compete for 2019 Academic All-America honors to be announced in June.
