Clinton, S.C. – Presbyterian College and head women’s soccer coach Brian Purcell announced the 2019 schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The season will consist of two exhibition matches and a 17-game regular season that consists of eight home dates and nine road dates.
“We are excited about the upcoming season,” said Coach Purcell. “I believe our non-conference schedule provides a nice mixture of teams that will prepare us for the challenges of the Big South. We know that we will have to perform at our very best in every game to be successful.”
The Blue Hose start the year with a pair of exhibitions games. First, on August 17 the team travels to Georgia State for a 7 pm matchup. Then, PC returns home to host Erskine on August 23 at 6 pm.
The regular season begins on August 30 with a double-header at Martin Stadium. The women’s team hosts North Florida beginning at 4 pm with the men’s team playing in their home opener at 7 pm.
Presbyterian then travels to Georgia Southern on September 1. After a 7 pm home game against Wofford (9/6), the team embarks on a three-game road stretch to Kennesaw State (9/8), Furman (9/12) and The Citadel (9/15). Those games are scheduled for 6 pm, 7 pm and 3 pm respectively.
PC then returns home to host SC State (9/17) at 7 pm and open Big South play against Longwood (9/21), also at 7 pm. September concludes on the road with a 4 pm game at Charleston Southern (9/25) and 7 pm matchup at Radford (9/28).
The month of October offers four home games with PC hosting USC Upstate (10/2), Gardner-Webb (10/12), High Point (10/16) and Campbell (10/23) all at 7 pm. The Blue Hose will play three road games in October, traveling to Winthrop (10/9), Hampton (10/19) and concluding the regular season at UNC Asheville (10/26). The Eagles and Bulldogs will host at 7 pm, while the Pirates are set to kick off at 2 pm.
The Big South Conference Tournament will begin on November 1 with the higher seed hosting. The semifinals and finals will be played at Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C.
