Boiling Springs, N.C. – The Presbyterian College softball team dropped the rubber game of their series against Gardner-Webb on Sunday afternoon, 12-4. The Blue Hose are now 11-34-2 on the season, 1-17 in Big South play.


Courtney White scored the first run of the game for the Blue Hose with a solo shot in the fourth. The home run was her third of the season. Kiley Kross blasted a home run of her own, a three-run job in the top of the fifth. The frame began with back-to-back singles by Jonnie Petree and Ansley Wilbanks. Kross then came to the plate, cleared the bases, and touched home after depositing the pitch over the left field fence. The freshman now has a pair of homers on the year. White led the team with a pair of hits in the contest.


Taylor Ward got the start in the circle for PC and allowed four runs (three earned) before being relieved by Sarah Ramsbottom. Ramsbottom allowed eight runs on eight hits and six walks in 3.2 innings worked. White came in to pitch in the sixth, facing a pair of batters and allowing a walk and a hit.


The Blue Hose will return to action on Tuesday afternoon with a non-conference doubleheader against Appalachian State. First pitch of the first game on Tuesday is slated for 2:00 p.m. Both games are scheduled to be streamed live on ESPN+.
