Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team is set to host a pair of matches this weekend. PC will face Big South opponent Campbell on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and then will take on non-conference for UNCG on Sunday. That match is also slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
The Blue Hose are 10-8 for the 2018-19 season, 2-0 in Big South play. The team dropped a pair of matches in Nashville, Tenn. at the beginning of the week to Belmont and Lipscomb. Nicholas McKinney picked up three wins last week, two coming against USC Upstate on Thursday, and was named Big South Freshman of the Week. McKinney and Oscar Alvarez earned singles wins last weekend, and the pairings of Alvarez and Max Benson and McKinney and Alberto Conde picked up doubles victories against Lipscomb.
Campbell is 7-3, 1-0 in conference, this year. The Fighting Camels earned a pair of mid-week wins last week against Duquesne and South Carolina State. Two Saturdays ago, Campbell defeated USC Upstate 6-1 in their Big South opener. The Camels will face Gardner-Webb on Friday before coming down to Clinton.
UNCG is 3-7 to begin the season after falling to Southern Mississippi on Thursday. The Spartans will travel to Furman on Saturday before facing the Blue Hose on Sunday afternoon.
