Knoxville, Tennessee – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis team was defeated by #24 Tennessee on Sunday afternoon, 4-0.

The Blue Hose dropped the doubles point after falling on courts two and three. The pairing of Sydney Patton and Jessica Leeman jumped out to a 3-1 lead against the #17 pairing in the nation. They were not able to finish their match.

The Blue Hose fell in the first three singles matches, courts four through six did not finish their matches.

“After Sam and Tracy went down, Jess was winning. Beth was about to split and Sydney had set point on her racket but sailed mid-court forehand long on the deuce point. Katie was clawing back,” said head coach Steve Brooks.

“After we got into the match, we competed well,” concluded Brooks. “We need to take the lessons learned into practice to help us moving forward with the rest of our season.”
