Emmitsburg, Md. - The Presbyterian College women’s lacrosse team opened the 2019 season with a 20-2 loss at Mount St. Mary’s Saturday afternoon at Waldron Family Stadium. Senior Natalie Barnett and sophomore Sarah Marshall collected goals for the Blue Hose with Marshall also leading the team with three shots.

Scoring the game

The Mount jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first half. Barnett scored an unassisted goal at 18:05 of the second half to make it 16-1. Marshall then scored a man-up goal after a yellow card was issued to the home team to make it 17-2.


Freshman Alyssa Cooke led the team with two draw controls and three ground balls in the game.

Mount Saint Mary’s held a 34-6 advantage in shots.

The Blue Hose goalies, Kayla Koch and Heidi Shafer, combined to make five saves compared to just three saves for three different goalies for Mount Saint Mary’s.

Seven freshman made their collegiate debuts for PC including Madison Berg, Paige Gacek and Cooke who also earned their first starts.
