COOKVILLE, TENN. - Francois Lewis paced the Blue Hose with 20 points, while Davon Bell added 14 points, to lead the Presbyterian College men’s basketball team to an 80-65 win over Tennessee Tech Saturday night at the Eblen Center in Cookville, Tenn.

Scoring the Game
The Blue Hose jumped out to an early 12-7 lead behind a pair of threes by Francois Lewis in the opening five minutes before Tennessee Tech went on a 7-2 run over the next four minutes to tie it at 14. PC used the long ball to extend its lead out to 10, 29-19 with 6:58 to go in the first half as Lewis, Adam Flagler and Davon Bell each buried a three during the 15-5 run. The Golden Eagles cut it to four, 32-28 with 4:03 to go in the first half before three pointers by JC Younger and Flagler helped extend the lead back to 10, 40-30 with 2:06 to go in the first half. TTU scored four of the final seven points in the opening half to give the Blue Hose a 43-34 halftime lead.

In the second half after TTU cut it to five, 47-42 with 14:33 to go in the game the Blue Hose got it rolling with a 13-2 run over the next four minutes to take a 60-44 lead with 10:13 to play. During that 13-2 run Lewis hit his team-high fourth three pointer of the contest. The Golden Eagles cut the deficit to 14 on two separate occasions but the Blue Hose answered and extended their lead back out to 16, 65-49 with 7:46 to go. After a quick 6-1 run by Tennessee Tech over 1:05 to make it 66-55, Presbyterian rattled off seven in a row to extend the lead out to 18, 73-55 with 5:16 to go. A 8-3 run by TTU cut the margin to 13 but it would not get any closer as the Blue Hose closed out a 80-65 victory.

Players of the Game
Lewis paced the Blue Hose with 20 points for his second 20 points performance of the season. Lewis went 8-for-14 from the field, while also going 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Bell added 14 points with Flager chipping in with 13 points. Lewis led the team with six rebounds and Bell had a team-high seven assists which was only away from his career-best. Alexander led TTU with a double-double as he had 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Stats of the Game
PC used the long ball to its advantage as the Blue Hose connected on 10 three pointers including nine in the first half compared to Tennessee Tech’s seven. Presbyterian shot 49.2% from the field, while holding TTU to just 41.5% including 36% after halftime. PC was 6-9 from the free throw line, with TTU going 14-for-25 at the charity stripe. PC had 13 turnovers to TTU’s 15.
