Presbyterian College junior midfielder Ricardo Hernandez has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® First Team, announced by the organization on Thursday afternoon.

 

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

Hernandez was named the 2017 Big South Tournament MVP and has earned All-Academic honors from the Big South the last two seasons. This season he has played the third-most minutes for PC (1620) and started all 19 games. Hernandez scored the team’s first goal in a 3-1 win at Campbell on September 28 and recorded an assist in PC’s 3-0 win over Longwood in the Big South Quarterfinals on November 4.

 

The Madrid, Spain, native has maintained a 3.88 GPA as a biochemistry major. For his career, he has nine points off two goals and five assists.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in December.
