CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team was taken down in a four set match by Georgia State on Friday afternoon inside the Templeton Center. The Blue Hose were edged out by the Panthers 21-25, 25-20, 21-25, 23-25.

Junior Erin Eulitz paced the team with 13 kills while adding 12 digs for her second double-double on the year. Sophomore Allie Wright added 12 kills with a career-high five aces. Wright also added five blocks to her stat line. Sophomore Sierra Jones led the team with 21 assists as senior Jaclyn Brewington chipped in with 15 assists. Redshirt junior Daley Gosnell led PC with 16 digs.

PC jumped out quickly in the opening set, racing out to a 7-2 lead over the Panthers. Georgia State scored 10 of the next 14 points to take a 12-11 lead, which the visitors wouldn’t relinquish the rest of the set. GSU took the set 25-21. Georgia State hit a match best .303 in the opening stanza to grab the early lead.

The second set was tight early as both teams traded points before the Blue Hose used a 5-0 run to take a 13-8 lead. PC took the set 25-20. Set three started much like the prior two as it was tight in the early going with the two teams going back and forth. The Panthers used the power of a 10-1 run to take a 17-8 lead which led them to a 25-21 set victory.

Both PC and GSU continued to battle in the fourth set as it was a set that featured a match-high 12 ties and eight lead changes. Georgia State battled back from a 21-18 deficit with a 7-2 run to take the match, 25-23.

The Blue Hose will be back in action again on Friday, September 21 as they take on Hampton in their Big South opener at 6:00 p.m. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
