Clinton, S.C. – Sophomore Sydney De Jong and freshman Erin Cooke led the Presbyterian College volleyball teams over Wofford on Tuesday night in five sets. De Jong had 14 kills while Cooke was just behind her with 13. The Blue Hose defeated the Terriers 25-27, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22, and 15-11.
Senior Jaclyn Brewington recorded her 1000th career assist in the final set of the match, collecting 22 on the night. She becomes the fifth player in PC’s Division I history to accomplish the feat.
The Blue Hose and the Terriers played five hard fought, closely contested sets. Neither team was ever able to gain full momentum, as no set was one by more than four points.
The Blue Hose are scheduled to be in action next when they host a tri-match on Friday and Saturday. PC will host Georgia State on Friday night and play against Davidson on Saturday afternoon. For Blue Hose news and updates, follow PC Volleyball on Twitter @BlueHoseSports.
