Pawley’s Island, S.C. – Presbyterian College senior Maiken Bing Paulsen shot 215 (70, 74, 71) at the Golfweek Program Championship to finish 10th overall and pace the Blue Hose to a fifth place finish at the Caledonia GC (par-71, 5094 yards).
Ann Elizabeth Gore finished 28th with a score of 224 (75, 73, 76). Freshman Julie Hillestad recovered to shoot 72 (+1) for the final round and finish 29th with a score of 226 (75, 79, 72) in her collegiate debut. Rylie Marchman tied for 44th with a collegiate-best 233 (76, 79, 78). Serina Combs tied for 59th at 240 (81, 82, 77).
The 10th place showing for Paulsen was her ninth collegiate top-10 finish. She led the team and ranked second for the tournament with 13 birdies.
Campbell’s Isabell Ekstrom won medalist honors at 202 (67, 67, 68) and led the Camels to the tournament title at 834. Full results and a statistical breakdown can be found on Golfstat.
East Carolina’s Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, from September 17-18, has been cancelled due to inclement weather from Hurricane Florence. The Blue Hose will next play when they travel to the 2018 Pinehurst Challenge on October 8.
