The Presbyterian College men’s basketball team and Head Coach Dustin Kerns announced the non-conference portion of its schedule on Tuesday. The slate includes match-ups with teams from the Pac-12, Big East, Atlantic-10, Colonial, Ohio Valley, Atlantic Sun, Northeast, Southern, Mid-Eastern Athletic and American Athletic Conferences, as well as the National Christian College Athletic Association.

“We are excited about a very challenging non-conference schedule with some highlights against some of the blue bloods of college basketball,” said Kerns.

The schedule is highlighted by a trio of contests against teams that made an appearance in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. The Blue Hose will open their season at College of Charleston, winners of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament, on Tuesday, Nov. 6. On Monday, Nov. 19, PC will take on another NCAA participant UCLA in Los Angeles. The Blue Hose take on Butler on Tuesday, Dec. 18 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Bulldogs earned a win in the tournament, over Arkansas, in the NCAA first round.

“For our program and players to play in historic venues as Pauley Pavilion, Hinkle Fieldhouse, and UD Arena and many others will be experiences and challenges that will make our team and players better,” Kerns said.

PC hits the road six more times during their non-conference slate. The Blue Hose will play at Tennessee Tech on Nov. 10, UCF on Nov. 25, North Carolina A&T on Dec. 1, Dayton on Dec. 22, Jacksonville on Dec. 30 and South Carolina State on Jan. 2. It will be the second meeting of the season between the Dolphins and Blue Hose, with the two teams meeting on Dec. 4, at the Templeton Center.

The Blue Hose play six home games during the non-conference portion of their schedule. They will begin with two games at home in a row on Nov. 12 against Welch and on Nov. 15 against Boyce. PC then faces St. Francis (NY) on Nov. 28. The non-conference home schedule concludes with three straight contests at the Templeton Center. The Blue Hose will take on VMI on Dec. 12 and Trinity (FL) on Dec. 15.

“We have several opponents against quality coaches and programs that will prepare us for the always tough Big South Conference,” said Kerns. “We are excited to bring some new opponents to Clinton and Templeton Gym that will create some excitement for our fans.”
