Greenville, S.C. – The Furman Paladins went on an 8-0 run over the final four minutes of the first half and the first 20 minutes of the second half turning a 6-3 game into a 14-3 score in route to their 16-4 win at Paladin Stadium on Wednesday.

Furman took 38 shots in the game compared to 18 for the Blue Hose, 28 of those shots were on goal.
Furman came out the gate scoring the first goal just 34 seconds into the game, it went on to score four more goals over the next 12 minutes before the Blue Hose took a timeout with 17:53 to play in the first half. Koch had five saves in the early going but Furman took 11 shots in the opening minutes of the game.
The Blue Hose responded after the timeout as they got on the board at the 9:12 mark and went on a 3-0 run of their own. Kathleen Gerrits scored the first goal for PC followed by a pair of freshmen, Ana Boothe and Marshall, which cut the Paladins lead to 6-3. Furman answered scoring the final three goals of the first half to carry a 9-3 lead into the half-time break.
The Paladins got the second half scoring started just 1:28 in at the 28:32 mark making it 10-3. They scored the first five goals of the second half and turning the 3-0 run to end the first half into an 8-0 and 14-3 Furman lead. Marshall scored for the Blue Hose cutting it to 14-4 at the 10:38 mark of the second half but Furman finished the game off with two more goals to make the final of 16-4.
