Iowa State hit three home runs in the first inning to come away with the 10-2 win over the Presbyterian College softball team in day two action of the Kickin' Chicken Classic held Feb. 9-11, at the Coastal Carolina Softball Field. St. Francis broke a 1-1 deadlock with a run in the sixth inning to rally to a 2-1 win over PC in game two. Grace Wallace led the Blue Hose offense with against ISU with her two-run home run in the second inning. Megan Anderson drove in PC's lone run against SFU with a RBI single in the first inning.
ISU 10, PC 2 (5)
Sami Williams led the Iowa State offense, going three-for-four with four RBI, her damage coming off a three-run home run in the first inning. She also posted ISU’s last run of the game with a RBI double in the fifth. Nychole Antillon posted a two-run home run in the first, with teammate Talyn Lewis collecting a solo home run in the first to put ISU up 6-0 early. She put the Cyclones up 9-0 with a two-RBI single in the second. Blue Hose Grace Wallace made it a 9-2 game in the second with a two-run home run, this one going over the left field wall. She drove in Macy Hyatt, who had reached on a single to open the inning. Asnley Wilbanks recorded the third hit for PC, posting a single with two outs in the fifth.
Emma Hylen threw a complete game for Iowa State, surrendering just two runs off three hits. Kaylee Allen earned the start for PC, going 0.1 inning, and giving up five runs and three hits. Camryn Alverson and Alex Cook both saw action as well for the Blue Hose.
PC finished with two runs off three hits and two errors, with Iowa State coming away with 10 runs off nine hits, and no errors.
SFU 2, PC 1
Megan Anderson led the Blue Hose at the plate, recording a hit and RBI. She put PC on the board early in the first inning, driving home Jonnie Petree with a RBI single to right. Four other Blue Hose would collect hits on the day, with Petree, Chelsea Lyons, Macy Hyatt, and Lindsay Harris all reaching off singles as well.
Jordan Seneca tied the game up with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, with Taylor Hoover’s sacrifice fly in the sixth completing the late inning rally for the Red Flash. Seneca led the team with a hit a RBI, with Mikayla Bower and Halle Marion also recorded hits for SFU.
Adrian Smith pitched 5.1 innings for SFU, giving up one run off five hits. Alex Cook started for PC, going 3.0 innings and giving up just two hits, while striking out three. Sarah Ramsbottom went 2.1 innings, surrendering two runs off one hit for the loss.
PC finished with five hits, one run, and had no errors, while Saint Francis posted two runs off three hits, and two errors.

PC opens the season 0-4.
The Blue Hose round out tournament play with a 2:30 p.m., game against host Coastal Carolina, Sunday, Feb. 11.
