CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team will head to former Big South foe Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Conway, S.C. The two will meet for the first time since playing for the Big South title in 2016.
The Blue Hose came out on the wrong end of a very tight match against Furman on Wednesday, falling 4-3. It was the fourth straight match between PC and Furman to be decided by just a single point. PC recorded wins at each of the top three flights in the match with Alexander Lykou, Alejandro Bejar and Brandon Mills each coming out on top.
Mills enters Saturday’s match having won four straight matches, while fellow senior Bejar has won his last three matches. Lykou has won each of his last two matches at the top flight.
PC and Coastal Carolina last met in the 2016 Big South Championship match with the Chanticleers edging out the Blue Hose, 4-3, to win the league title in its final season in the conference. PC won the doubles point in the match, while Mills accounted for one of two PC wins in singles, a 6-2, 6-4 decision at No. 4.
