CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis defeated Lee University by a score of 6-1 on Saturday afternoon in Clinton at Clinton Middle School. The Blue Hose improved to 3-1 on the year with the victory.
PC opened the match by taking the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Caroline Ferrari and Tracy Johnson teamed up for 6-4 victory at No. 1 and Katie Thompson and Ella Rowley, playing together for the first time, recorded a 7-6 (5) win at No. 2. The Blue Hose recorded a win by default at No. 3.
PC then took three of the four singles matches that were played out. Beth Taylor improve to 4-0 in singles on the year, winning 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2. Demi Henschel recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3. Freshman Ella Rowley then won her first collegiate singles match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4. PC won the matches at No. 5 and 6 by default as well.
The Blue Hose return to action on Saturday with a doubleheader. PC will travel to Davidson for a 10 a.m. match, before returning to Spartanburg to take on Spartanburg Methodist at 3:30 p.m.
