DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team fell at Davidson, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon in Davidson, N.C. The Blue Hose fall to 0-3 on the year, while the Wildcats improved to 1-2.
Davidson took the early lead by claiming the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. The Wildcats recorded a 6-2 win at No. 1 but PC answered as Alejandro Bejar and Luis Conde earned a 6-2 win at No. 3 to even doubles at one match apiece. Davidson edged out PC in a tight one, 7-6 (7-3), on court two to take the point.
Davidson took four of the six singles matches to claim the victory. Alexander Lykou recorded his first win of the season for PC, topping No. 120 Artem Khrapko, 6-4, 7-5, at No. 1. Freshman Daniel Stenger recorded his first collegiate victory, going 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6.
The Blue Hose return to action on Sunday, traveling to UNCG for a 10 a.m. match.
